Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • As the Chief Release Train Engineer, you will be working with the Chief Product Owner (CPO) as part of the leadership team of multiple scaled agile engineering teams

  • Perform as servant-leader role helping to drive 4 multidisciplinary Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and 10+ other agile teams comprised of 100+ engineers based in the Software, Systems Design and Analysis, and System Integration and Test disciplines, aligning goals and creating a cohesive vision for the RTEs in each ART and acting as a dedicated RTE for the scrum teams not in an ART

  • Schedule and ensure timely release of AN/TPY-2 System/Software Products aligning releases with test and fielding activities

  • Identify and resolve impediments across the scaled agile organization

  • Facilitate and coordinate Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives

  • Enable DevSecOps initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the program

  • Provide Agile coaching for all members of the scaled agile organization

  • Run a Scrum of Scrums and Release Train Engineer (RTE) Community of Practice

  • Ensure coordination amongst other Agile Release Trains and Sub Cross Product Teams

  • Identify and track cross ART/team dependencies

  • Coordinate with support directorates, such as Global Security Services and Digital Technologies, to ensure efficiency in development of the end product

  • Coordinate across remote teams or teams across multiple locations

  • Maintain a Value Stream Mapping of the product line release train and work with the CPO, IPT and PMO to drive constant improvements in the release train using agile/lean (CoreOS) principles

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and 7 years of prior relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Experience in the field of Engineering, including any of the following: System Requirements definition and analysis, System Test and Analysis, Systems Engineering Studies, NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Team Leadership experience in Scaled Agile Development and/or Lean engineering

  • Demonstrated ability in leading engineering teams

  • Practical DevSecOps experience

  • Experience with Systems/Software Product releases, including formal delivery to end users on a set schedule

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, suppliers, management, and customers in a team environment

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.

This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
